Final stage of the Cefalù Festival del Cinema. The Interview at Sea has been nominated for an award
It was news a few months ago now that The Interview is at Sea was officially selected at the Cefalù Festival del Cinema. However, we waited to announce it because the festival is based on a selection and evaluation process that takes place over a fairly long period of time. Our film had already been selected in spring and included in the official catalog, which from the fall will also be available for purchase on Amazon (as soon as it becomes available we will announce it here). Then over the summer came the wonderful news of the transition of The Interview at Sea from “Official Selection” to “Nominee” status. This means that the jury of the Cefalù Festival del Cinema has already decided to nominate the film for a specific award by providing us with a motivation, which we give below:
It is with great pleasure that we wish to inform you that the Jury of the Cefalù Festival del Cinema unanimously recognized the high social value of your film, deeply appreciating its message and emotional impact.
The Festival was born in 2015 thanks to the efforts of Mario Macaluso who conceived, designed and created it as an opportunity to meet and dialogue with the art of cinematography. Until 2019 the event is called “Cefalù Film Festival.” From 2021 it changes its name to “Cefalù Festival del Cinema.” This name change seals an evolution and growth of the event that now carries out its many cultural activities throughout the year.
Like all the other festivals that have wanted The Interview at Sea in their selection, the Cefalù Festival del Cinema is characterized by a strong focus on issues related to the territory, the environment and social issues in general. In short, we already feel at home here too!
The next stages of the festival will take place in early November (the scheduled dates are November 1-3). The festival takes place both in-person and it will be possible to watch the main selected films (including Interview at Sea) on the prestigious MYmovies platform. This is the most important online streaming platform that follows all major national festivals starting even with the oldest and most important festival in the world (which we will have a chance to talk about in a dedicated article).

Interestingly, there will be an opportunity to return here as well. The Cefalù Festival del Cinema is also planning to build an event/review dedicated to the sea. We have already been “intimated” that we should not miss it! But we will give all directions on this as well.
